This week is about slowing down. Enya is off school, and the temptation is to keep pushing, to keep the momentum going with Asatoma.
Truth is, I love the rhythm I’ve found in my work, and there’s a quiet fear that if I stop, I’ll lose it. Last year I questioned a lot, played a lot, and slowly found the joy again. This year, things are finally falling into place and I am starting to harvest the fruit from this time.
This work is a labour of love. Catering is hard, often for little profit, but for me it’s never been about being financially rich. It’s about freedom—being present for school runs, real summer holidays, real time together whilst sharing my love of food.
Not everyone gets this choice, no judgement—just gratitude.
The menu is out and we’re taking orders until tomorrow evening. Carrot cake is on this week.
Wednesday morning, we’re back to work.
So today, we make carrot cake.
Not for momentum, not for output—just for the small, sweet moments that make the work worth it, sharing my love with my love ❤️.
